It's bluebonnet time again. There were so many gorgeous bluebonnets out 290 last year that this year we decided to head in that direction instead of our normal photo grounds. This year, however, bluebonnets were a bit more scarce. Where patches did pop up there were hundreds of cars pulled over on the side of the road. There were several places where the freeway traffic slowed to a crawl with cars pulling off, and back on, and others looking to see what the commotion was all about. The first time it happened I thought there had been a massive fender bender.
We found a place with big fields of yellow flowers and another of bluebonnets side by side well off the freeway on a country road. Connor sat and played in the yellow flowers for a minute or so then spent the rest of the time attempting to de-head or trample the flowers. Ryan just cried. And cried some more. As we moved on to the bluebonnet field it was obvious that neither of them was interested in sitting still for a photo so we gave up and went on with our day. After dinner just before we headed back home I saw a hillside covered with bluebonnets behind a gas station. We tried once more and managed to get a shot or two before the boys dissolved once again into a uncooperative fit and game of catch me if you can.
